Rideau Goulbourn | Bruce Chrustie in 2010!

Amalgamation was supposed to bring a decision making process in which we in the rural wards had:

  • decision-making and advisory responsibilities on specified local matters.
  • final say over local planning issues, regulatory by-laws and important community programs.
  • responsibilities like subdivision approvals or local transportation issues.

My commitment to you is to implement what amalgamation was supposed to bring:  the rural wards having binding authority on rural issues! There is no other candidate in Rideau Goulbourn who is proposing such common sense. It is time we execute on what amalgamation promised .

Hi Bruce, I have read your position on administration conditions that allows for rural specific decision making. I support this position 100% believing it would greatly enhance the reasonableness, efficiency and fairness in our municipal decision making process.

Anything I can do to support your campaign please do not hesitate to contact me.

In today’s edition of the councillor’s update there is commentary about my ‘challenge’ of the Ward 21 council. As I have stated elsewhere many times that I am a firm proponent of Delegation per the Municipal Act.

Councillor Brooks has put much effort into the Ward 21 council to date and I doubt there will be any candidate to take a step back on this. I applaud those who server their communities in this fashion and simply look to improve upon execution in a timely manner. We in the rural wards cannot wait 5 – 10 years as proposed by Mr Brooks for rural change. Strangely enough his rural counterparts are not implementing a Ward council at this point and we have to ask why? A Ward council is not the same as Delegation per the Municipal Act.

Though I was a bit surprised to find such an update in a City issued email since the councillor has yet to file his nomination papers for the Oct election. I do hope in the future such commentary from the incumbent will at least have the spelling of my name correct!
